![]() ![]() That aside, let’s begin reviewing “Luxor Adventures”. I don’t care what their excuses for it are, it’s intrusive and it’s wrong.Īt the very least, there should have been a clear warning on the game’s packaging (like with games that require Steam membership) and, preferably, on the game’s Amazon page too.Īs a consequence, any GSP games on this DVD that I review will receive one point less than they would have otherwise done. There is absolutely no need for them to ask for the player’s personal information. I’ve already bought a copy of it – their involvement should end there. This might seem like a small issue to mention, but I personally don’t see why GSP should know my name, gender (eg: “Mr” or “Ms”) and e-mail address (these were the three compulsory fields on the registration form, if I remember rightly) before I play their game. Yes, they refer to it as “online registration” and, yes, you can skip both the registration and the toolbar and still be able to play the game (although this triggers registration reminders every time you start up Windows, although these can easily be closed). Not only that, it wanted to install an internet toolbar too. I don’t know if this is common to all GSP games or just this one, but when I installed “Luxor Adventures” and the “Samantha Swift” games on my computer, the installer started demanding all sorts of personal information. Whilst it was really cool of GSP to include a whole game as a free gift, it doesn’t quite make up for one problem I should mention before I begin reviewing “Luxor Adventures”. No, I didn’t download it from some dubious corner of the internet – it came free with the copy of GSP’s “Samantha Swift Trilogy” DVD I bought from Amazon recently. Interestingly, I actually got “Luxor Adventures” for free. ![]() ![]() Hopefully, it’s just a phase.Īnyway, today, I thought that I’d review “Luxor Adventures” (by a company/publisher called “GSP”) – I’m about halfway through the game at the time of writing this review, so it will only cover my impressions of the game so far. Shock horror! I’m turning into a casual gamer. ![]()
